My first indirect encounter with Thailand was back in 2001, when a friend of mine started his stories about
his annual visits to the land of smiles. Of course, with the idea of motivating me to accompany him on one
of his next adventures, as he usually went alone. And this is the time to tell you that no matter whoever
is telling you, if you don't visit this magical country at least once, you won't understand any of its unique
charm. Yes, he piqued my interest, but he failed to convince me that traveling 8,000 miles from my
homeland was as worthwhile as he made it out to be.
